"My Story" began as a kindergarten student in Mrs. Patty Cannady's class here at Calvary Day School. During my time at Calvary, I had such an amazing experience whether it was in the classroom, in chapel services, or on the athletic field. Each experience and individual I came across inside these gates helped shape me into the man that I am today. I often tell people that my parents have had the most impact on me as a person, but after them, it was my teachers and coaches at Calvary that have impacted me the most.
I knew that Calvary was different than other schools because of the relationships and bonds that were made between the students, teachers, and parents. These relationships that I made almost thirty years ago are still going strong. I have had the wonderful opportunity to experience Calvary on so many levels. I was a student here from kindergarten through high school graduation. I then came back to teach middle school and stayed in that role for six years before serving as Middle School Principal for three years. I now have the pleasure of being the Director of Admissions. Just recently my wife (Natalie Paris Lee ‘08) and I had the joy of watching our son Bryson start Pre-K at Calvary. Now it is his turn to begin his story, and we can't wait to see how God will write it.
In addition to being the Director of Admissions, I also have the privilege of coaching middle school football and high school baseball. This is just another way that I am able to give back to this school which has given me so much. It is amazing to see how each one of the kids here on campus are shaped day by day to be that wonderful creation God has planned for him/her to be.
All in all, “my story” is one of thankfulness and appreciation to a place that means so much to me and my family. I could not fathom the idea of Calvary not being in our lives. We are so blessed to be able to be a part of an institution that we can call our family.
Philip Lee is a 2003 graduate of Calvary Day School and is the Director of Admissions. Mr. Lee loves that his job offers not only a present impact on students’ lives, but an eternal one as well. His favorite verse is Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
